10 February 2024: Monkey

Only just over a week after our previous encounter, we spotted Monkey again. Last time, we encountered her all by herself, so we were exited to see her in company this time. Giraffe live in fission-fusion groups, which means they are loose herd structures and the move in and out of groups regularly. Just like many of us – alone time is great, but so is time with friends. Both in moderation.

And if you are not that good at spotting your giraffe adoptee – Monkey is leading the pack here on the left of the picture.
