22 March 2024: Tima

Another camera trap spot of Tima. She is certainly on the move. We have now spotted her in all corners of the reserve. Maybe, we should put a GPS tag on her when we get a chance as she is using the full extend of Etosha Heights Private Reserve. We can probably learn a lot […]

17 March 2024: Kunene

Luckily the Northwestern part of Namibia has received some rains and many of the trees are sprouting. Here is Kunene munching away. Happy days!

12 March 2024: Ninja

Look me in the eye, baby! What is not to love about these huge, dark eyes with incredibly long lashes. Almost like Ninja is staring straight into your soul – as he continues to chew nonchalantly.

Today is leap day! And guess who we spotted on a camera trap image from last month? Tima – in the company of young female giraffe. Camera traps are an important tool for conservation.

10 February 2024: Monkey

Only just over a week after our previous encounter, we spotted Monkey again. Last time, we encountered her all by herself, so we were exited to see her in company this time. Giraffe live in fission-fusion groups, which means they are loose herd structures and the move in and out of groups regularly. Just like […]

07 February 2024: Kunene

Kunene is one of the giraffe we encounter regularly in the Hoanib River. This time in the company of a large herd of springbok. It is always amazing to see wildlife in this harsh desert environment. Looks like she is on a bit of a mission. Or maybe she is just camera shy …
